Silver Extinguishes Fire's Hopes for Victory with Late Score

Once again the Silver allowed an early score, but this time we came back to tie the game with about ten minutes left and almost won on a penalty kick. Andrew Lamoureaux scored our lone goal. The Silver dominated the second half with an 18-5 shot advantage against the Chesapeake Select Soccer Club Fire. We finished our first tournament with a 1-1-2 record, quite an accomplishment for a team that had never played together.

Heartbreakers - Cape Fear Ends Title Hopes with 1-0 Victory

Our title hopes went blowing in the wind as we lost a tough game to a veteran Cape Fear Breakers team. We never could maintain a consistent offensive threat to overcome the Breakers lone goal scored in the game's opening minutes.

The Day The Cosmos (Almost) Stood Still - Silver Ties Cup Finalists

Amid unending cries of "River", the Silver held off a second half onslaught by the Delaware River Soccer Club Cosmos and tied the eventual Dominion Cup finalists. Kyle Griffin scored when his shot deflected off of a River player for our only goal at the fifteen minute mark in the first half. We kept the lead until the last five minutes of the game when the Cosmos scored off of a corner kick. That was the first goal scored on us in 135 minutes of action.

Silence of the Predators - Silver Opens Tournament with 2-0 Victory

Triangle United Silver U-15 (we really need a team nickname) won in its first game ever and started the Old Dominion Cup with a 2-0 shutout over the Virginia Rush Predators. Douglas Kosiba scored the first goal in team history at the fourteen minute mark in the first half, and added the second goal shortly before halftime on a pass from Brian Grose. We dominated the second half with a 14-3 shot advantage and never let the Predators back into the game. Zac Scott and Will Jones split the goalkeeper duties.
